Those Damn Great Democrats Part X - Kent Conrad

For this installment of "The Party of the America Hating Left", Roger decided to look into one of the Democrats that represents a whopping 38,062 minority folks. Remember, the Democrat Party is the Party of the Little Guy. Gaylord Kent Conrad doesn't have to worry about that much, since his constituency is 92.4% white. Don't want to have too many of THEM in MY district. "His" website HERE.

Buckle up, Shirley, this Cracker don't do much for his salary.

Here we go. It seems that Gaylord has been less than mediocre his entire life. Since being elected to the United States Senate in 1986, Gaylord has latched onto four committee seats. These are impressive. Let's see: Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, Committee on Budget, Committee on Finance, and the Committee on Indian Affairs. Whew! Don't get too overloaded there, Gaylord. You must be another one of those Democrat workhorses. Might as well be the Ranking Democrat on the "Committee to Go Get Slurpees for Everyone".

HERE's the Staff Page. I would pay money to see these folks try to do a step aerobics class. I just know it would look like a bunch of engineers trying "Hula-Hoop". Twenty-Eight folks shown on the page. Why in the Hell do we pay these salaries? There are only 650,000 people in North Dakota. Why? Please explain this to me.

Bills Sponsored:
S.RES.209 : A resolution to strengthen fiscal responsibility by improving Senate consideration of conference reports. (Man, that is just what we need, a bill to improve reports) S.J.RES.4 : A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval of the rule submitted by the Department of Agriculture under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, relating to risk zones for introduction of bovine spongiform encephalopathy. (Cause everybody knows that we got us a HUGE problem with Mad Cow Disease!) S.35 : A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to extend the credit for production of electricity from wind. (Love them damn windmills) S.AMDT.144 to S.CON.RES.18 To ensure that 75-year solvency has been restored to Social Security before Congress considers new deficit-financed legislation that would increase mandatory spending or cut taxes. (Who the Hell thinks that Social Security is a good idea and tax cuts are bad?) On to PART TWO.

Gaylord was born in Bismarck, North Dakota on March 12, 1948. He attended high school in Tripoli, Libya, attended the University of Missouri until he realized that they were not Left-Wing enough so he moved on to Stanford. He also received a grad degree from George Washington University. His first job was assistant to the tax commissioner in North Dakota and then moved on to become tax commissioner, too.

Here's where it gets sticky; He was elected as a Democrat to the United States Senate in 1986 for a term ending in 1992. He was NOT a candidate for reelection because of a campaign promise to NOT seek reelection if the deficit had not fallen in his tenure. However, it was okay for him to run for election to fill the unexpired term of the late Quentin N. Burdick, which he started in December 1992. Huh? That sounds so odd. He made a promise to leave Washington, but only to run for the OTHER Senate seat in North Dakota.

He is married to Lucy Calautti, and has a daughter, Jessamyn Conrad with another woman. An aside, Lucy's son Ivan works for the Sierra Club in Portland, Oregon and Gaylord's daughter "Jessie" is in grad school at Columbia. Any idea which way these folks lean?

How about a look at the campaign contributor's to Gaylord? How about Michael Dukakis, Bernie Ebbers, Dianne Feinstein, Jamie Gorelick, Vernon Jordan, Norman Lear, Robert Rubin, John Tyson, and Gary Winnick? Man, that is a great list.

Even though Gaylord gets his money from the Moonbats, he still distances himself from "Knee-jerk liberals that oppose the President" on his re-election website.

Another fine piece of work from the America Haters.
